The use of the biomarker chitotriosidase is increasing every year.
The conventional chitotriosidase assay is known to have some serious limitations such as transglycosylation and inaccurate quantification in Gaucher patients heterozygous for the common G102S polymorphism (~37% world wide).
Advantages of Chito-kit: The novel substrate can accurately measure chitotriosidase levels over a very wide dynamic range and it also provides accurate results in patients heterozygous for the null mutation in the chitotriosidase gene!
With this improved chitotriosidase assay, we provide the Gaucher community with a better tool for monitoring and studying patients, which contributes to an optimal treatment.
Especially in times when treatment is stopped, or dose is reduced due to supply shortage, it is important to monitor disease progression by accurate and frequent measurement of chitotriosidase levels.
The increased sensitivity of the new chitotriosidase assay now also makes it suitable for reliable measurement of 2-10 fold elevated chitotriosidase levels in inflammatory diseases like sarcoidosis, asthma, arthritis, and atherosclerosis. Each Chito-kit contains the following ready-for-use components for 96 measurements in cuvettes or wells:
- 4MU-deoxy-chitobiose substrate solution
- 4MU standard solution
- stop solution
- package insert with protocol
