Amdix is founded by a key opinion leader in lysosomal storage diseases, prof. dr. Hans Aerts. Professor Aerts is the head of the Medical Biochemistry department of the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and internationally renowned for its achievements in lysosomal storage diseases and Gaucher disease in particular.
The company has access to a valuable network of leading technologies and development expertise for top quality diagnostic products. Relations with the AMC and the University of Leiden are important sources for a continuously advancing product pipeline.
The first product is the improved assay to accurately measure plasma levels of chitotriosidase, an important biomarker in the diagnosis and treatment evaluation of Gaucher disease and several other inflammatory diseases. Four other exclusive diagnostic product candidates have already been identified and will be further developed by Amdix.
